Aug. 6--She's not the first one to go away mad. Still, it was a little grating to read why Linda "Tucson's Own" Ronstadt chose to fly the coop last year, after a decade spent in this town.
And it has nothing to do with the heat.
Chatting it up with a San Francisco Chronicle writer from the confines of her San Francisco living room, Ronstadt said she could no longer stand Arizona's "strip-mall culture and right-wing mentality."
Oh, please.
As if California doesn't have a few strip malls -- not to mention political wingnuts zooming around right, left, backward. Take your choice.
