Fed: Pom more likely to be affectionate than hurtful - expert

The man who oversees the Australian Oxford English Dictionary says the term Pom is
an affectionate one .. and shouldn't be seen as offensive.

Dr BRUCE MOORE .. from the Australian National University .. says the terms Pom and
Pommy are colloquial .. and aren't designed to be derogatory.

Some British expatriates living in Australia .. calling themselves British People Against
Racial Discrimination .. have launched legal action to be rid of the word Pom in advertising
.. saying it's a derogatory term.
